Terms — Trig Art

Last updated: 31 August 2026

These terms cover enquiries, commissions, sales and hire through this website. The studio trades as Trig Art, based in Essex, United Kingdom. Enquiries: use the form on this site.

Enquiries
Sending the form is not a purchase and does not reserve a piece. A sale, hire or commission only exists when both sides have agreed the work, price, dates and payment in writing (email is fine).

Original works
Most pieces are one-offs. What you see on screen will not match the object exactly. Sizes and weights on the site are given in good faith and may vary slightly.

Availability
Labels such as For Sale, Available to hire, Sold or Unavailable are a guide and can change. A work marked Unavailable may still be discussed as a starting point for a new commission.

Sale
Price, collection or delivery, and payment terms will be confirmed in writing before any money is taken. Unique works are sold as seen, except for damage caused in transit where Trig Art has arranged the shipping. Once a piece has been collected or delivered in good condition, it is not returnable because you change your mind.

Hire and display
Hire is by written agreement only. That agreement will cover the period, fee, collection or installation, and who insures the work. The hirer is responsible for looking after the piece and for any loss or damage while it is in their care, up to the value stated in the agreement. Do not drill, clean with solvents, or move a hired work without agreement.

Commissions
A commission starts with a written outline of the idea, size, materials, fee and timetable. Work begins when the agreed deposit has cleared. Deposits are not refundable once making has started, unless Trig Art cancels. The remaining balance is due before collection or delivery. Copyright in the finished work stays with Trig Art unless a written agreement says otherwise.

Delivery and collection
Many pieces are heavy. Delivery, installation and insurance in transit are quoted separately unless the written agreement says they are included. Collection from the studio can be arranged.

Copyright
Photographs and text on this site belong to Trig Art. You may not copy, reproduce or sell images of the work without permission. Buying or hiring a piece does not buy the copyright.

The website
The site is provided as a portfolio and enquiry point. It may change, and pages may go offline. Links to other sites are not our responsibility.

Liability
Trig Art is not liable for indirect loss (for example missed exhibition dates) except where the law does not allow that limit. Nothing here removes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If any of this needs to change for a particular work, the written agreement for that work takes priority.
